THIS SEASON: A 2007 sophomore, Megan Wheeler is a promising backstroker who will look to make an impact at dual meets, the Pac-10 Championships and perhaps beyond. She is also strong in the free.
2006: Wheeler did not see action as a 2006 freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Wheeler prepped at West Valley High in Yakima, Wash., where she was a state and relay champion as a junior in 2004. Though a shoulder injury forced her to miss her senior season, she still finished her prep career as a 12-time district champion ... A senior national qualifier and two-time All-American, she was a two-time 2004 Junior National winner, has won three junior national titles overall and competed in the 100m back at the 2004 Olympic Trials ... Was a member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: She was born July 25, 1987 ... Her mother, Holly, ran track at Cornell ... Lists Lance Armstrong as her biggest sports hero.
